¡Hola! I am Lisa Bares and this is my 20th year of teaching world language classes in Ann Arbor Public Schools. During these years I have taught both Spanish and French at the high school and middle school level, served as the World Language Co-District Department Chair and now teach 4th and 5th grade Spanish. In addition to being an educator, I am also a mother of two kiddos!I have earned a B.A. from Kalamazoo College and a M.A. from the University of Denver as well as studying at Universidad Antonio de Nebrija and Universidad Complutense de Madrid in Madrid, Spain.
I love to travel and learn about other peoples and cultures and then share those experiences with my students in class. I have had the opportunity to travel to Spain, Mexico, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Honduras, Puerto Rico, France and Quebec just to name a few.
In my "free" time I enjoy watching and playing sports, especially fútbol/football, aka soccer, as well as spending time with family and friends. This year I am also training for the Detroit Free Press 1/2 marathon with Love Runs. We are raising money to support victims of human trafficking-- Michigan ranks #2 in the country.
